Hands

Why not start by creating colourful hand print displays.
- feature stop smoking pledges from smokers
- include top tips for smokers
- present contact details for local stop smoking advice
- feature 10 reasons to stop smoking
- use locally sourced research under the heading 'Hands up those who .for example, gave up smoking using their local Military Stop Smoking Services
- feature a hands-o-meter CO monitor chart with hand prints in green, orange and red
OR
- attract visitors to your stall by offering palmistry sessions, free hand massages or henna tattoos
Chains

- form a human chain of smokers who have pledged to stop or one for those that have successfully stopped
- organise a tug of war between smokers and non-smokers using a big chain
- cover your stall with all sorts of chains
- make paper chains with images of cigarettes
- dress up as a US prison chain gang member with a ball and chain
- chain Big Cig up with a ball and chain and challenge him to escape
- wrap chains around smoking shelters
Break free

- play recordings of songs with 'break free' in the lyrics such as:
- 'I want to break free' by Queen
- 'Take these chains from my heart' by Ray Charles
- 'Unchained Melody' by the Righteous Brothers
- 'Chain Gang' by Johnny Cash
- Pretend to be an escapologist and attempt to break free from a sack
tied by chains (or ask your PTIs or ex-smokers to do this)
