If you are a smoker and want to stop - we have great news

THERE IS LOTS OF HELP AVAILABLE
The Armed Forces' medical and dental facilities
Most of the pleasure you feel when you smoke comes from the addictive drug in tobacco - nicotine. This pleasurable effect is very short lasting and by smoking you are simple feeding your addiction. NRT helps to relieve withdrawal symptoms when you stop smoking until such time as the body can cope without the nicotine. The Armed Forces' medical and dental facilities now provide access to Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) on prescription and that means it is at no cost to Service personnel. Your PTI Health Trainers are the best source of help for any military personnel interested in stopping smoking. Stopping smoking on your own is not easy - so, DO GET HELP. Contact your local medical centre / sickbay or dental centre for more information.
